Get off my lawn

Gahhh, why did he have to say those drawings were terrible?! I CAN’T DRAW ANYWHERE NEAR AS GOOD AS THAT QQ

The fact that he considered those old drawings very bad makes me feel inadequate about my current art.

You’re missing the whole point! It’s not about someone being better than someone else. It’s about YOU being better than yourself. Whether you know it or not, if you’ve been drawing you’ve been improving. It’s a slow process for many people and for some, you won’t be “good” for years. But THAT’S FINE. That’s how it is for everyone. I can guarantee you that almost every artist you think is great has been drawing for years. Heck they may have even been doing it most of their lives!

It took me half a year to get good at drawing ponies ON TOP OF three straight years of drawing almost every day. And I’ve still got a long way to go if I want to be as good as I really want to be.

Getting good takes time. Work on getting better. And just relax. Have fun for Pete’s sake.
